Train to become an ultrasound technologist and earn an average salary of $57,000 annually. Ultrasound technicians, which also are called ultrasonographers or diagnostic medical sonographers, usually work in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, diagnostic, and imaging centers, where they use transducers and high frequency sound waves to take images of a patientís internal organs, blood flow and tissues with the intent of the right diagnosis.
