Burger King doesn't just cater to your tummy, but to your "cash for college" needs as well. And if you're a part-time worker with a demonstrated financial need, you could be served a $1,000 scholarship, thanks to the fast food chain's scholarship program. The deadline is January 15th. Log onto www.bkscholars.csfa.org for more information.

Are you a high school senior and an outstanding leader who wants to attend Johnson & Wales Univesity? Prove it by entering the school's "Outstanding Student Leader Competition." You could win a scholarship from $3,500 to full tuition. The deadline is January 17th. Call 1-800-DIAL-JWU, or e-mail admissions@jwu.edu for competition details.

Think you can make a difference in this world? If so, you'll want to vie for The Christophers Poster Contest for High School Students. Just submit original poster art with that theme in mind, and $1,000 can be yours. The deadline is January 24th. Log onto www.christophers.org for official rules.

Tim Reid, the former TV dad/stepdad of Sister Sister, a late '90s sitcom starring Tia and Tamara Morrow, wishes to help you pay your college education through the Tim Reid Foundation, if you're willing to attend a Virginia-based school. If so, count on applying for the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics Scholarship Award's $1,500 school stipend. All you have to do is explain why you want to teach math and what you feel your contribution will be to the profession, and have a 3.0 GPA or better.
