So,
what do on-campus college students do over the summer? They don't
watch re-runs, that's for sure!
Summer Living Is a Blast!

The CollegeBound Network NewsClick -- Take notice of all
your friends who are home this summer, quickly becoming couch potatoes.
All, this won't be your reality, will it? Not when you're
living on campus and you've got an itinerary overflowing with activities,
that is. Here's a sampling of sizzlin' summer campus happenings...
Students at Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY), for instance, spend
their summer days working with children from the school's Early
Education and Child Care Center. Their efforts are funded through
a New York Foundation of the Arts grant, established to build a
mosaic at the entranceway to the Center's building.
Similarly, art interns and student volunteers are working with
renowned artist Paul Jackson to create what may be considered the
world's largest single-image mosaic at Missouri University (Columbia,
MO). The project is scheduled for completion late this summer and
will be dedicated during MU's ceremony 2001 Homecoming.
Interior design students at Harcum College (Philadelphia, PA) are
making their summer stay work for them. They're utilizing the principles
of Feng Shui -- the ancient Chinese practice of arranging one's
environment to balance the energy for maximum production -- and
donations from Kmart to make their campus dorms more 'chi' friendly.
When these young designers aren't fixing the place up, they're going
on organized trips to the New Jersey shore, watching Philadelphia
Phillies games, and attending Harcum Student Poetry Readings.
Students living on campus at Georgia State University (Atlanta,
GA) are honing their athletic skills this summer. That's because
the school offers intramural sports, including tennis, golf, and
basketball. And, to shed those extra pounds gained from summer barbeques,
students can take a water aerobics classes. There's even lifeguard
training instruction offered for those who want to put their swimming
to good use.
Living on campus for the summer will hardly put you to sleep. After
all, you'll be entirely too busy to count sheep. And the best part?!
Your friends will probably be jealous because they're reading about
what you're doing while you're living it up!
