Whether it's helping you pay for schooling or aiding you in the job search after graduation, a Tennessee 2 year college will be with you every step of the way. Teaching Teachers

At Pellissippi State Technical community college (Knoxville, TN), the Teacher Education programs in math and science were recently given a national award for Best Practices in Teacher Preparation by the Atlanta conference of the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs. Pellissippi's teaching program benefits students by requiring that they spend 40 hours or more working in an elementary or secondary school. In addition, they are given the opportunity to obtain a bachelor of science degree in elementary education Tennessee Technological University (Cookeville, TN) while remaining on Pellissippi's campus.

For students of other Pellissippi programs, the school hosts a job expo where they can get part-time or full-time jobs in such fields as information technology, finance, and health care.

Mobility and More

Students at Roanne State Community College (Harriman, TN) can choose from eight campuses from across East Tennessee to take classes. They can also select between two-year courses, and program studies that can count towards traditional freshman and sophomore years as studied in four-year colleges. Students may study subjects like mathematics, social and natural sciences, and the humanities and upon graduation, students, transfer to universities and professional schools across the nation.

For students who prefer two-year courses that pave the way into the workforce, Roanne boasts programs in Career preparation for fields such as police science, office administration, nursing, and the health sciences (for which the school offers over 10 programs) through which students can attain Associate Degrees and certificates.

Business Beats

The Dyersburg State Community College (Dyersburg, TN) doesn't choose favorites, providing students from all studies with the opportunities they need heading into and out of the institution. Prospective freshmen in the music studies program, who plan to participate in certain activities such as the school's orchestra or gospel choir, are able to apply for scholarships.

Meanwhile, graduating students from career fields like justice services, accounting, business administration, and psychology receive a career booster from Dyersburg, which posts their resumes on its sites in order to attract job offers for their students.

As you can see, 2 year colleges in Tennessee are versatile institutions that provide for their students during and after their years in attendance.
