Tame Testing

by Dawn Papandrea
Ever have to listen to a loud-sniffling student sitting right behind you as you struggle to concentrate on a test question? You're not alone, according to a study on

SAT

test-site complaints by Kaplan, a test preparation company. Check out the top SAT woes and how to deal:

Too little bathroom time >> Sure you get 15 minutes, but it's the same 15 minutes as the hundreds of other students waiting on line. Solution: Watch your fluid intake - especially caffeine, which makes you have to go - and hit the bathroom before the exam.

No time-limit announcements by the proctor >> Even though you're supposed to be told how much time is left, take it upon yourself to bring a watch.

Having to freeze or sweat your way through the exam >> Dress in layers so you can bundle up or strip as needed.
