More than 200 high school counselors have joined a project urging The College Board to allow students to take portions of the  

SAT

  separately rather than having to sit for almost four hours. But what do the students - you know, the ones who actually take the exam - think?

Nearly two-thirds (65 percent) of those surveyed by Kaplan Test Prep and admissions said that given the option, they would rather take the different sections of the test on different days.

Where things get more complicated, however, is just how that would Work. Should it be broken up over two days? Three days? Or should you take whichever section you want, when you want? Most students surveyed (67 percent) agreed that they would want the break time between all test sittings to be less than a week. In other words, let's get it over with, just not all in one day.

"Students care about the SAT and invest a great deal of effort into preparing for and taking it," explains Jon Zeitlin, general manager for SAT and ACT programs for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. "They want to be able to give the same level of focus and concentration at the end of the test as they were able to give at the beginning."
