Sara's Wild Life
by Paul D. Rosevear
SARA PAXTON
is pondering what you're pondering. No, not what happened on the latest "Lost" -- she's wondering what to write her college application essay about. "I know I want to study film and business, but I'm not sure what to write my essay on," says the star of Discovery Kids hit show "Darcy's Wild Life." "I've been working so much I haven't had time to figure it out. I'm sure I'll write something about my acting experience."
After all, she's got plenty of it. Acting since the age of six, Sara is gearing up for the second season of "Darcy," just finished filming a movie called "Aquamarine," and even had a recurring role on the WB's popular show "Summerland." Oh yeah, and did we mention she just inked a record deal with Epic Records?
For all of her showbiz success, Sara remains focused on getting an education at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA). "I'm excited. But I don't want to live in the dorm -- it's really far from my friends and where I live," she says. "Even though many of my friends and even two of my cousins will be there!"
OK, so she's a homebody at heart. But when you're keeping the hours Sara does, there's no place like home. "I go to a private high school, but when I'm on set, I work 12 hours a day," she explains. "That means on the weekends I have to do six hours of school with the tutor. But if you're willing to make the sacrifice and work hard, it's all doable. That's my secret -- hard work."
