by Jackie Bondanza
Besides a windbreaker, there are a few other things you'll have to be sure to bring with you if you decide to attend College in Chicago, Illionis. For one, you'll need your walking shoes - Chicago is filled with beautifully crafted buildings (the city is known for its architecture), historical landmarks and hidden neighborhoods filled with good eats and treats. You'll also probably want to remember a camera for all those visits to the Sears Tower, which has some fantastic panoramic views of the city.

Climbing one of the world's tallest buildings is just one of many adventures to be had if you attend a

. Chicago's city streets are saturated with ethnic restaurants, museums, parks, theatres and art galleries. Of course, you've got to allocate some time to tour the Wrigley Building, designed by architect William Wrigley to resemble a birthday cake; and the Tribune Tower, home to the Chicago Tribune, which is embedded with real pieces of famous buildings including the Alamo, Hearst's Castle and the Taj Mahal. There's also the world's largest outdoor food festival, The Taste of Chicago, that attracts nearly 3.5 million people each year to sample foods from around the globe.

If you attend a Chicago college, you'll also have the Harold Washington Library, the world's largest library, at your doorstep, not to mention an exciting array of nightlife including theatres, comedy clubs and trendy bars and clubs.

Chicago is a city rich with contrast, and is a virtual cultural melting pot of music, art, food and architecture. The city's various neighborhoods are flavored with ethnic flare, and provide a bunch of interesting things to explore. If you're a history buff, architecture junkie or art lover, attending a Chicago university would give you unlimited access not only to the city's most well known landmarks and attractions, but to its hidden nooks and crannies as well. Chicago has all the big city staples, like Chinatown and Little Italy, but boasts a significant amount of smaller neighborhoods like The Loop, River North and Old Town, that abound with unique and educational ways to spend your free time.

A Chicago college is a great choice if you're looking for a big city College Experience without all the hustle and bustle that often accompanies big city life. Choosing a Chicago university that's compatible with your needs is fairly simple, as Chicago universities offer programs and degrees in everything from health and hospitality to engineering and esthetics.
