5 Things You Didn't Know About Chris Klein

by Gina LaGuardia
In short, we could have a called this one the "School of Oz" (

CHRIS KLEIN

's character in "American Pie"), but really, it's a sneak peek into another side of the Hollywood hunk, who also happens to have nearly three years of College under his belt. (Bet you didn't know that!)

1. He was the quintessential Johnny B. Good in high school. "I drove a black Camaro Z28 with gold rims ... walked around school in carpenter pants and a white T-shirt ... I averaged A's and B's ... played outside linebacker on the football team ... dated a cheerleader, then followed her to college."

2. After "Election," he traveled with his father to Cairo, Egypt, and was forced to answer that age-old dad-son question: "What are you going to do with your life?" "You don't think about things like that when you're 18. Dad said 'Whatever you decide, it's on your own dime.' So I immersed myself back in school at Texas Christian University [Fort Worth, TX] and paid my own way. I got a 4.0 for three semesters because it was my own Money."

3. He thrived on dollars and sense. In addition to theater, Chris also studied economics, and joined Lambda Chi Alpha, a fraternity for Business students. "I wanted to Work in finance and know about money because I wanted to make it."

4. He hearts college. "I loved the camaraderie, the social life, the academics, and intramural Sports [he played flag football and sand volleyball]. I also used to love sitting in class and taking notes ... I really enjoyed getting up and going to class, and learning history, English, finance, etc."

5. He believes in accountability. About his recent DUI charge: "I learned that when you make a mistake, you own up to it ... Take the blame yourself and stand up like a man. Take responsibility for your actions. I did."
