What is a cosmetologist?Cosmetologists perform a variety of beauty services which cover all aspects of the beauty industry such as manicuring, shampooing, hair styling, make-up application, temporary and permanent hair waving, hair straightening, bleaching and tinting and various skin and scalp treatments. Cosmetologists may often specialize in any one or more of these services. Hairstyling is no longer the major activity in the cosmetology industry. It has grown to be an increasingly complex and artistic profession. Strong human relations skills and the ability to communicate with people are of major importance.

What is a nail technician?Nail technology is the complete study of the arms, hands and nails—including the diseases and disorders and the cosmetics used. The objective of this program is to prepare students to know the correct procedures and have the ability to pursue a career as a professional technician.
