Teen Rescue is excited to announce the pending opening of a residential boarding school for struggling teen boys. Teen Rescue's boys program will provide long-term evaluation and redirection for teen boys who are heading in a wrong direction. The boys program will use the same systems and structures already implemented at the Julian Youth Academy (the girls program that Teen Rescue has operated since 1993).
Teen Rescue is also currently starting its new short-term boys program, Focus, a 30 to 90 day program for struggling teenage boys. This program provides parents with the opportunity to evaluate and redirect their child before their child's problem becomes too advanced. (Please note: this is not a brat camp, boot camp, or wilderness program). By enrolling your son at Focus, you can take action to change his behavior and possibly save your family from overwhelming heartache and frustration in the future.
The Julian Youth Academy is a fully accredited, private Christian residential boarding school located in the mountains near San Diego, California. A program of Teen Rescue, this residential boarding school for teenage girls is aimed at helping troubled teen girls by providing firm but loving intervention, interactive education and life skills training. Our all girls boarding school is open to families regardless of race or religion.
If you are unsure what to do with your out-of-control teen, you have come to the right place. Most of the parents that turn to us are exhausted both emotionally and financially, having spent years and thousands of dollars on other solutions or programs for troubled teens. Parents desperate, and with great love for their child, continue to search for answers. The Julian Youth Academy was created to help families like yours. Our Christian boarding school can help bring strength, healing and structure to your child's life, and bring peace back to the family unit.
There Is Hope!
Many parents are exhausted both emotionally and financially, having spent years and thousands of dollars on unproductive avenues of help. One of Teen Rescue's goals is to help every family that calls. If we can't help you directly we will give you options of where to turn next. We know how frustrating it is to be left with nowhere to go. It is our promise to you that we will help you move in the right direction.
A Quick Survey to See If a Problem Exists...

• Are they sleeping excessively or showing other signs of depression?
• Are their eating habits normal and healthy?
• Have their sleep patterns changed?
• Do they show signs of anxiety?
• Are they obsessive about anything? Example: girls, boys, computers, games, friends
• Do they obey the law and/or rules at home?
• Are they generally angry or hostile towards authority?
EDUCATION AT JYA
Julian Christian High School is the name used on the transcripts and is also "doing business as" (DBA) Julian Youth Academy. JCHS is a fully accredited Christian school for grades 6 through 12 that annually files a private school affidavit with the California Department of Education. JCHS uses a home school curriculum published by Alpha Omega Publications. Each student is evaluated upon arrival to assess where he is placed within the curriculum. Every boy has his own computer station where he works on her individualized school program. The computers do not have internet access and are used only for school work. The staff is available to help the boys with their work and to provide them with individual tutoring.
JCHS has an open admissions policy, meaning a boy can be enrolled at the school even if he is behind in her education. JCHS also practices rolling admission, allowing boys to start at the school at any point of the year. Also, with the year-round system that the school uses, the child has the continuous opportunity to experience success in her education. If a student completes her high school degree while at the Julian Youth Academy, he can remain in the program by continuing college level correspondence courses. |

The Admission Process
Requirements for admission:
The following is a list of items needed to move forward in the process. If parents need help with tuition, they should contact us for options available. Scholarships are given to those who can establish a valid hardship; all financial awards are subject to availability.
1. The parent calls the corporate office and is asked a series of questions about the child. This is referred to as the student's profile.
2. JYA requires parents to call 4 other programs similar to JYA, a list of which will be provided for the parent. This is JYA's way of remaining ethical. This is a very vulnerable time for parents and JYA wishes to assist them in doing the best thing for their child. JYA would love to be of assistance to each family, but JYA's goal is to have the family feel a peace about the decision they make on behalf of their child. The families are more important to JYA than filling up their program.
3. After JYA reviews the profile, an appointment will be set up a time for the parents to visit the school. The parents have the opportunity to interview current students and tour the campus. If the visit goes well and the parents are satisfied with the program, JYA and the parents can then arrange an enrollment time.
4. The parents tour the school and, if they decide to send their child to JYA, they will be sent a contract and parent handbook.
5. Parents are requested to read the contract and parent handbook before returning the signed notarized documents.
6. All students will be evaluated by JYA's psychologist. If the student is not seen before admission, they will be evaluated within approximately 30 days of admission.
7. JYA recommends that most students be transported by a professional transport service. A list of such services will be included in the packet given to the parents.
JYA realizes that sometimes parents may need to move quickly. JYA can accommodate this. JYA has admitted new students in as little as 4 hours. However, it usually takes approximately 48 hours for an admission process to take place.

Cost
If Teen Rescue carries a "note" for the family and the family does not have a scholarship, the general tuition is paid with a $10,000 down payment and $2,800 per month for 15 months, totaling $52,000. This total cost includes 6 additional months of Aftercare Support. Again, if you need help with tuition please contact JYA for information concerning a scholarship. If the parents pay the full tuition upon enrollment, they will receive a 10% discount. Note: If the student stays longer than 15 months, the monthly contract tuition will continue on a month-to-month basis.
Cost comparisons:
An independent market survey found that JYA is the lowest cost program for the staff-to-student ratio JYA maintains (1-to-5, not including corporate staff support). With the 6 months of Aftercare Support included, the daily price of JYA is approximately $82.54 compared to other programs that start at $120 per day and most programs that average $160 per day.
Wilderness programs:
Average Cost= $400.00 to $800.00 a day
Residential Treatment programs:
Average Cost= $300.00 to $800.00 a day
Group homes
Average Cost= $266.00 to $600.00 a day
The same market survey cited above shows that the therapeutic boarding school industry has exploded. There were very few primary programs 10 years ago. Now there are over 300 programs that vary in structure compared to Julian Youth Academy. JYA is one of the original schools of its kind. Since 1993, JYA operates using philosophies and techniques that have been proven as reliable. Many programs have modeled themselves after JYA.
