Florida Career College currently owns and operates four campuses for career education. The main campus is located in Miami, Florida with seven branch campuses located in Miami, Pembroke Pines, West Palm Beach, Hialeah, Clearwater, Brandon and Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. All campuses focus on career education and are conveniently located near expressways, shopping malls, and restaurants. Florida Career College offers large, comfortable classrooms, computer labs with PC and Mac computers, medical labs, bookstore and a resource center.

Health Information Management Program (BS)
Bachelor of Science Degree

This degree program is designed to prepare students with the necessary healthcare managerial skills and principles for careers in the health information management. Students are provided with a course of study that allows them to have knowledge of medical assisting, billing & coding and administration. Some career employment opportunities students will be prepared for include employment in hospitals, physician practice groups, surgery centers, eldercare facilities, and home health care agencies.

Advanced Massage Therapist Program (AS)

Therapeutic massage is a rapidly-growing area within the allied health care profession. The Massage Therapist may choose to work in spas, physicians’ offices, chiropractic centers, and many other facilities. Students learn the various elements of anatomy and physiology, massage techniques, exercise physiology, joint movement, and much more.
Program Objectives
To prepare graduates for entry-level positions and advancement in massage therapy. Students will possess a working knowledge in the theory and practice of massage, including sports massage, Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, Oriental modalities, Western modalities, deep tissue techniques, pathology, massage billing, kinesiology, and business principles. Students learn CPR, health and safety practices, human relations skills, the legal and ethical aspects of massage, and employability skills. |
Medical Office Administrator Program (AS)

This program is designed to prepare the graduate for entry-level employment as a Medical Office
Administrator in medical offices, clinics, and hospitals.
Program Objectives
Upon completion, the graduate will possess working knowledge in the elements of Medical Assisting and Medical Coding & Billing including medical terminology, anatomy, human diseases, pharmacology, basic medical office procedures and clinical medical assisting skills. Students will learn front office procedures such as handling patient accounts and records, word processing, and scheduling of patients. The program includes courses in medical documentation, and assigning and sequencing diagnostic and procedural codes using universally recognized coding systems. The student will also learn back office procedures such as taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, and performing selected diagnostic tests as directed by the physician. The medical assistant technician will also learn basic medical laboratory and X-ray procedures. |

Patient Care Technician (DP)
Diploma Program
Providing the training and skills that are necessary to become a Patient Care Technician, this program focuses on essential skill building that includes courses in occupational therapy, radiology and geriatric skills. Students are also given detailed instruction in other important aspects of advanced home health care such as CPR training, body system structure and function, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Graduates can find employment in a variety of settings that include hospitals, medical offices, living facilities and much more. Graduates are qualified to take the Florida Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and Home Health Aide (HHA) certification exams and the National Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) examination. Exams must be passed before certifications are awarded. |

Professional Sales & Customer Service (DP)
The highly interactive Professional Sales & Customer Service Diploma program is designed to teach students to apply practical sales techniques in a range of situations, to act as intermediaries between customers and suppliers, and to comprehend the complex interrelationships between the salesperson and the other components of business. Graduates of the Sales program are qualified for positions with for small and medium-sized manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers where they would be responsible for servicing existing customers, creating and making sales presentations, closing sales, performing post-sale service and acting as field market research resources for customer needs. Also included in the coursework are negotiation and contract sales, business communications and sales force leadership. |
Professional Sales & Customer Service (AS)
The Associate of Science Professional Sales & Customer Service builds upon the Diploma program in exploring broader and more sophisticated sales and servicing principles and techniques including integrated branding, critical thinking, and legal and ethical considerations for selling in particular and business in general. The student will also begin to use and understand computer applications including spreadsheets and basic accounting, so vital to the sales process. At this level, personal professional development is also approached on an intra-relationship basis. In 2002 Florida Career College was awarded collegiate status by the Florida Commission for Independent Education. The Commission for Independent Education also approved the College’s curriculum for Allied Health Medical Programs from Florida Computer and Business School.
