The Animation and Visual Effects Program is designed to enhance the student's knowledge and skills through an intensive series of courses that cover a wide spectrum of digital visual media including 3D modeling and animation, texture and lighting, compositing, digital film and video effects, creating graphics for the Internet and more.

Students gain experiential knowledge through extensive lab time using multiple hardware platforms. A one-to-one (student-to-machine) lab ratio allows students to individually explore the intricacies of a wide variety of graphics software. Students create a series of projects throughout the program in addition to a final project specially developed to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities to potential employers.

Graphics and compositing software and hardware utilized in the program include packages from Alias|Wavefront Maya, Adobe, Macromedia, Kaydara, Microsoft, Vicon, and others.

Students who graduate from the Animation and Visual Effects Program will be prepared for entry-level employment as graphic artists, compositing artists, 3D animators and modelers and more.
