The Medical Assistant Comprehensive program objective is to provide the training that meets the requirements of today's health care practitioners. The Medical Assistant Comprehensive course also provides the neccessary skills to assist specialty physicians as well as develop the critical thinking skills of the Medical Assistant.

A specialized training partnership has been formed between Children's Community Pediatrics (CCP), a subsidiary of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and our school. Students in the Medical Assistant Comprehensive program who have a special interest in working with children, will have the opportunity to have a practical learning experience via a CCP externship in an environment dedicated to quality care for children.

Upon completion of the Medical Assistant training in this program, the graduate will be awarded an Associate in Specialized (AST) Degree. The Medical Assistant training in this course leads to developing skills in both clinical and administrative, relating to skills and expertise in working in numerous medical specialty areas, so employment may be found in a numerous areas both regionally and nationally.

The Health Insurance Claims Examiner/Medical Biller course objective is to provide the necessary training in Health Insurance Claims Examining and Medical Billing for medical and dental offices, hospitals, insurance companies and other health care facilities.

After completion of classroom training, the student is assisted in an externship combined with an in-house practicum, which blends experience from externship to classroom. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be awarded a diploma.

Health Claims Examiner education, medical biller education, medical coding education, hospital billing, dental claims processing and customer service training are components in the training program. Medical coding employment needs are in demand as are employment needs for all facets of the training involved in the Health Insurance Claims Examiners/Medical Biller program.

The Advanced Medical Coder/Biller program objective is to provide the necessary training in Medical Billing and Coding for medical and dental offices, hospitals, insurance companies, clinics and billing companies.

The student receives an extensive background in medical billing, specialty practice billing (for various medical specialties), hospital billing, customer service training, dental claims and dental claim processing, medical coding training, health claims examiner education and more.

After completion of classroom training, the student is assisted in being placed in an Externship combined with an in-house practicum, which blends experience from externship to classroom. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be awarded an Associate in Specialized Business degree (ASB).

The Pharmacy Technician program objective is to provide the necessary training in pharmacology, compounding, sterile products, retail and hospital procedures for success in retail, mail order or hospital based pharmacies. The student will receive an extensive background in the fundamental practice of pharmacy technology as well as specific training in computer usage and customer service communications. They will have the skills to help licensed pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients. They will be prepared to receive prescriptions or refills from patients or electronic requests from doctor’s offices. They will learn to verify and complete the information on the prescription. They will be trained to retrieve, count, pour, weigh, measure and mix medications. They will learn to price and file the prescription. The computer skills they learn will allow them to automate accounts receivable, inventory control and ordering. Customer service and communication skills will enable them to interact appropriately with patients, coworkers and other health care professionals. After completion of 580 hours of classroom training, the student is assisted in being placed in a 280 hour Externship that will provide appropriate experience to enhance the skills learned in the classroom. Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will be awarded a diploma. Having performed a wide variety of pharmacy applications that encompass specific concentrations, the student is prepared for an entry-level position as a pharmacy technician in a community pharmacy, a hospital or a mail order pharmacy.

Employers want employees who have strong computer skills, a knowledge of database management, and ability to use spreadsheet software that enhances productivity in the workplace. As organizations continue to computerize these skills will be necessary for employment marketability.

Our mission is to provide the educational environment in our massage courses (Massage Therapy and Bodywork programs) that enhance the education and personal enrichment of all students.

The Advanced Bodyworker program is an extensive course in Massage Therapy modalities with an emphasis on wellness, pathology, massage protocols and the business skills necessary to manage and maintain a massage therapy business.

The objective is to provide massage courses that provide the necessary knowledge and technique to maintain a career in performing an extensive therapeutic massage with a focus on the resources necessary to develop enhanced business and career goals. A Medical Massage & Research project has been added to the training program. Students will be given the opportunity to work with clients with various medical conditions who may benefit from ongoing massage treatments.

Upon successful completion of this program, the graduate will receive an Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) degree and is prepared for a new career in the field of massage therapy, utilizing advanced bodywork modalities.

The massage course objective is to provide the student with the necessary knowledge and technique to maintain a career in performing an extensive therapeutic massage consistent with alleviating these conditions. Upon successful completion of this massage course, the graduate will receive a diploma and is prepared for a new career in the field of massage therapy.
