Talented students from across the country and around the world choose AMDA because of its challenging, performance-based curriculum. They come to train with a premier faculty comprising accomplished actors, directors, choreographers, dancers and designers who inspire and work with students on an individual basis.

AMDA offers BFA and certificate programs. The courses are performance based. The approach is practical rather than academic. All of the coursework relates exclusively to the artistic and professional development of students. The curriculum is designed for students to learn and master the varied approaches and techniques that are utilized in the profession.

AMDA's conservatory training is rigorous. The course work is intensive and exclusively focuses on developing craft, technique and the essential tools necessary to build a career in the performing arts.

After 40 years of leading the way in performing arts training as one of the world’s foremost conservatories, AMDA now offers four BFA programs and three certificate programs. These BFA programs have been developed in response to the demand for a curriculum that combines AMDA’s professional-level conservatory training with academic coursework which leads to a BFA Degree.

All BFA programs are offered in Los Angeles. Certifcate programs are offered in both Los Angeles and New York.

AMDA offers a number of options for students to study in performing arts. Students may attend the 2-year certificate program in New York, and transferinto the BFA program in Los Angeles.

LENGTH OF COURSE:

BFA: 8 semesters. Each semester is 60 weeks.
CERTIFICATE: 4 semesters. Each semester is 15 weeks.
