The University of Dubuque is a coeducational liberal arts college and a theological seminary in Iowa's first city - Dubuque. The Key City is on the Mississippi river at the point where the borders of Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa meet. Founded in 1852 by Adrian Van Vliet as a school for prospective pastors, the four-year college was added several years later. It now has four schools: School of Business, School of Liberal Arts, School of Professional Programs, and School of Theology. Through its history, the University has been known as a place of educational opportunity. Even today, a large portion of its students are the first person from their families to attend college. |
