Located in Northwest Calgary, the University of Calgary's campus spans almost the entire size of downtown Calgary with its beautiful, park-like setting and pristine buildings. Students at the University of Calgary can choose from over 80 academic programs, including architecture, fine arts, business, chemical engineering, communications, drama, economics, education, community health sciences, environmental science, industrial design, music, political science, software engineering, and linguistics. The University of Calgary also houses 36 research institutes and centers.
The University of Calgary has several plans to expand and improve their academic offerings and links to the community in the upcoming years. In 2008, the University of Calgary will introduce its four-year doctor of veterinary medicine program, the first newly created program at the school in over 20 years. Other recent and future additions to the University of Calgary campus include the Experiential Learning Centre, the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment, and Economy, and the Campus Calgary Digital Library. |
