Tarrant County College, a comprehensive two-year college established in 1965, is dedicated to providing quality education that exceeds the expectations of the people of Tarrant County. Accordingly, the mission of this community college is to provide affordable and open access to quality teaching and learning.
Tarrant County College serves the citizens of Tarrant County, Texas. This two-year college has four major campuses in the cities of Hurst (Northeast Campus), Fort Worth (Northwest and South Campuses), and Arlington (Southeast Campus). A new comprehensive community college campus is scheduled to open in downtown Fort Worth in 2008.
The school's motto, "Tomorrow Starts Here," was formulated with students in mind. The idea is that whatever the tomorrows of students may be -- rewarding careers, enhanced skills, baccalaureate or graduate degrees -- they start at Tarrant County College.
Tarrant County College is, for so many people, an on-ramp and acceleration lane onto a network of pathways that lead in various directions to success and fulfillment. Without this two-year college, many would find their access to higher education blocked. Some would not be able to overcome the barrier of having been underprepared in high school. Others might find it too difficult to return to college after years away from the classroom, and many might find costs -- even at state universities -- simply too much when there are families to be housed, fed, and clothed. For these and many others, Tarrant County College is the way to a brighter tomorrow. |
