New York School of Interior Design
170 East 70th Street
New York, NY 10021
Founded in 1916, NYSID is one of the country's leading interior design schools. Because the college is totally devoted to interior design, NYSID students receive a rigorous and in-depth education that covers everything from the fundamentals of color and spatial relationships to the most sophisticated computer-aided design methods. NYSID graduates acquire the skills designers need to meet the demands of this global profession, along with a rich education in liberal arts and design history. With an average enrollment of 700 students, the college retains an intimate environment. Students are recognized as individuals and their progress is carefully monitored during their course of study. The college is proud of its alumni and keeps in touch with them once they graduate, giving every new class a rich resource of alumni contacts to draw upon. There's a special spirit at NYSID, one of cooperation and camaraderie -- between part-time and full-time students, and among our many distinguished faculty and lecturers who come to us from museums and major design firms.
