Ten thousand students across five campuses comprise Mercy New York education. With the main campus in Dobbs Ferry, and neighboring campuses in the Bronx, Manhattan, White Plains and Yorktown, plus a vibrant online learning community, there is no shortage of diversity across these varying environments. Established in 1950 by the Sisters of Mercy, the college's primary goal was to give the opportunity for higher education to young women who may not have had the opportunity otherwise. By the late 1960s, the school became co-ed and nonsectarian, with its new mission to expand their goal for affordable, attainable, quality education to all walks of people - and for 55 years since the school has done just that.
For the prospective student seeking a quality liberal arts New York education, or the student seeking a more advanced degree, Mercy College caters to all degree objectives with strong undergraduate programs as well as master's degree programs in several professional areas including health professions, business, counseling/psychology, and teacher education preparation. The vast majority of Mercy College's students are commuters who continue to work and support families - there is no shortage of diversity, with ages ranging from 18 to 80. Regardless of background, all learners at Mercy College are treated to an impressive faculty which includes Fulbright Scholars and national authorities in their fields.
