Located in the heart of the Crown Heights section of Central Brooklyn, Medgar Evers College is noted for its commitment to academic excellence and the development of the community in which it resides. The College presently offers 18 degree programs leading to the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees. Today, the College enrolls more than 5,300 degree students and over 4,000 continuing education students. Medgar Evers College is the only institution in The City University of New York with a career ladder in Nursing (including a non-credit nursing assistant program, 45 credit hour practical nursing program that articulates directly into the A.A.S. degree program, Associate in Applied Science and Bachelor of Science degree programs). |

- Medgar Evers College has the distinction of being the youngest of the four-year senior colleges in The City University of New York.
- Medgar Wiley Evers, known as "The Man in Mississippi," is a seminal figure in the history of the American Civil Rights Movement. The third of four children, Medgar was born on July 2, 1925 in Decatur, Mississippi to James and Jessie Evers.
- Medgar Evers College offers the Full Faith and Credit Program. Students who have completed an Associate Degree from any accredited institution of Higher Learning, we will apply your academic credits toward a Bachelor's Degree at Medgar Evers College.
- The College is also proud of its strong academic programs offered through the four (4) Schools: School of Business, School of Liberal Arts and Education, School of Science, Health and Technology and the School of Continuing Education and Office of Community Programs.
- Baccalaureate programs are offered in accounting, biology, business, computer information systems, education, English, environmental science, liberal studies, mathematics, nursing, psychology, public administration.
- Associate degrees and several outstanding Certificate programs are offered in most of these disciplines. Our programs' strengths continue to attract large numbers of students.
- The Office of Career Management Services at Medgar Evers College utilizes innovative and technological approaches to assist students in acquiring those skills needed for success in a competitive job market.
- Entering first-time freshman, who are not part of the SEEK Program, are assigned to a Freshman Year Program counselor during registration. Transfer students, with less than 24 transferable credits, are also assigned a Freshman Year Program counselor.
