  • The main campus is 43 acres. Georgia College and State University is at the heart for academic and student life. Many students choose to live in apartments on or adjacent to the main campus or on West Campus, just several blocks away.
  • Georgia College and State University was founded in 1889 as Georgia Normal & Industrial College. The school has also been named Georgia State College for Women, the Women's College of Georgia, Georgia College and since 1996, Georgia College & State University.
  • Georgia College and State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, master's and specialist degrees.
  • Most class sections enroll between 15 and 35 students. Seminars, tutorials and honors courses usually enroll 20 to 25 students with three faculty facilitators.
  • More than 40 undergraduate degrees and more 18 graduate programs are available in four schools -- the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the J. Whitney Bunting School of Business, the John H. Lounsbury School of Education and the School of Health Sciences.
