We are a University comprised of eleven schools with three locations in New York for Undergraduate and Graduate education. These include four full-time colleges, Fordham College at Lincoln Center in the heart of Manhattan, Fordham College, and the College of Business Administration, at Rose Hill in the Bronx, and Marymount College (women's college) in Tarrytown. In addition, Fordham College of Liberal Studies serves adult and part-time students at all three locations at various times and on line. Graduate studies are served by the Graduate Schools of Arts and Sciences (Rose Hill), Business Administration (Lincoln Center and Tarrytown), Education (Lincoln Center and Tarrytown), Social Service (Lincoln Center and Tarrytown), and Religion and Religious Education (Rose Hill), and the School of Law (Lincoln Center).

  • Fordham University is an independent university in the Jesuit tradition.
  • It was established in 1841 as St. John's College by the Right Rev. John Hughes, Coadjutor-Bishop (later Archbishop) of New York, on old Rose Hill Manor in the village of Fordham, then part of Westchester County.
  • Enrollment (Fall 2003)
  • 15,814 students attend 11 schools, with 8,486 undergraduates and 7,328 graduate students. Approximately 4,253 live in University-managed housing, including 1,960 full-time freshmen.
  • Rose Hill, the original campus, adjacent to Little Italy, the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden, is situated on 85 acres in the Bronx. About 6,240 undergraduates and graduates attend with 2,856 in residence.
  • The Lincoln Center Campus was established in 1961 on eight landscaped acres adjacent to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. About 8,000 professional and undergraduate students attend, with approximately 853 in residence in apartment-style housing.
  • The Tarrytown Campus was officially established in 2002 when Marymount College consolidated with Fordham. Since 1975, Tarrytown has housed branches of the graduate schools of education, social service and business administration.
  • Undergraduates attend the all-women's Marymount College of Fordham University or the co-ed Fordham College of Liberal Studies.
  • With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic-10 conference in all sports except football.
