Specialized facilities for Engineering Technology, Art, Industrial and Interior Design, Music, and Nursing, among other things, are available to students wishing to pursue a career in any of these fields.

In addition to the numerous academic opportunities, California State University Long Beach sponsors nearly 200 campus organizations, including fraternities and sororities, religious clubs, honor societies, political and social action clubs, cultural associations and special interest clubs. With over 33,000 students, almost 2,000 faculty, and 1,600 professional staff, California State University Long Beach is often likened to a small city.
