Founded in 1919 as Baltimore Hebrew College and Teachers Training School, Baltimore Hebrew Institute has evolved and expanded in many areas, including education and cultural enrichment. By 1987, Baltimore Hebrew Institute had been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and took on university status. Today, the graduate programs and world-class faculty are integrated into Towson University. Baltimore Hebrew Institute is committed to the exploration and learning of Judaism and Judaica through challenging courses of study, a dedicated faculty and a diverse student population. At the University, students are offered the opportunity to study on the undergraduate or graduate levels while also providing certifications in a number of areas. At the graduate level, students may choose between three Master of Arts programs. Towson University 's Masters of Arts programs now include Jewish studies, Jewish education and Jewish communal service. The location of Towson University is perfect for a student who wishes to take part in culturally enriching social activities and programs. The Inner Harbor is just one nearby attraction that beckons students.
