Founded in 1783, Augusta State University is a private, four-year university in Georgia. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the academic structure at ASU combines a strong liberal arts education with hands-on application.

Augusta State University offers more than 50 programs leading to an associate, bachelor's, master's, or specialist degree. Undergraduate students can pursue a bachelor's degree in arts, business administration, fine arts, music, science, education, or social work. Master's degree programs are offered in business administration, education, public administration, and science. In addition, a Doctorate of Education is offered in cooperation with Georgia Southern University.

Augusta State University is an NCAA Division II school with four men's teams and six women's teams competing at the varsity level, along with a cheerleading squad and a co-ed dance team. Students can also participate in a wide range of campus organizations including Greek life, academic and professional groups, and club sports.
