Vermont Law School, a fully accredited independent, private law school, offers students a traditional core legal curriculum and experiential programs with an environmental law specialty. The school offers five degree programs: Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Studies in Environmental Law (MSEL), Joint JD and MSEL, Master of Laws in Environmental Law (LLM) and an LLM in American Legal Studies for international students. Vermont Law School offers more environmental law courses than any other school in the country.
Founded in 1972, Vermont Law School is located on a 13-acre campus along the White River in a National Register Historic District. The campus is made up of 19 buildings, including a renovated 1893 schoolhouse. U.S. News and World Report has ranked Vermont Law School No. 1 in environmental law. In addition, The National Jurist named the school one of the best law schools for women.

More than 600 full-time students attend Vermont Law School. The average age of a student is 28 years old. The student body is made up of individuals from 46 states and eight countries. Men comprise 47 percent of the student population, and women 53 percent. More than 14 percent are people of color.
Vermont Law School has more than 40 regular faculty members, more than five visiting faculty members and 36 adjunct faculty. More than 20 faculty members have at least one advanced degree in addition to their JD.
More than 60 percent of Vermont Law School students passed the bar exam the first time. More than 90 percent of graduates were employed or in a degree program within six months of graduation.
About 90 percent of Vermont Law School students receive some form of financial aid.
