Vennard College, a small, private, four-year institution, is a Wesleyan-Holiness Bible College located 60 miles southeast of Des Moines. The school is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education.

With an enrollment of under 100 students, majors are offered in several areas: Bible/theology, business management, Christian ministries, psychology and human relations and multidisciplinary studies.

Originally founded in 1910 as the Chicago Evangelistic Institute in Chicago, Ill., the college moved to Iowa in 1951 and was renamed Vennard College in 1959.

  • Ninety percent of Vennard College students receive financial aid of some kind, including federal grants, institutional grants and scholarships, state scholarships, work-study programs and student loans.

  • Vennard College has the only 18-hole miniature golf course in Mahaska County, Iowa. It is open to the public from May to October.

  • Vennard College participates in the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II organization and the Midwest Christian College Conference in five sports. In addition, students can participate in a number of intramural sports, including soccer, basketball, golf, ping-pong and flag football.

  • All single students are required to live on campus upon attending Vennard College, unless the student is 23 years old or older or is taking less than seven hours of coursework.
