Vanguard University is a private, coeducational, Pentecostal liberal arts university. Vanguard was founded in 1920 as a Bible-training institute and is owned by the Southern California District of the Assemblies of God. Vanguard offers over 34 undergraduate majors and more than 5 graduate programs to approximately 2,200 students.
Vanguard's athletic department consists of more than 13 varsity teams including men's basketball, soccer, baseball, track, cross country and tennis; and women's basketball, cross country, volleyball, soccer, tennis, track, and softball. The University of Vanguard of Southern California's varsity teams are members of the Golden State Athletic Conference, NAIA Division I.
Vanguard University is located in Costa Mesa, California, about 60 minutes south of Los Angeles. VU's Student Life program consists of resources that are meant to help Vanguard's students. The Career Center, Counseling Center, Outreach Ministries and student organizations fulfills the needs of Vanguard students.
