Susquehanna University is an undergraduate, liberal arts school located in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, founded in 1858 under Lutheran affiliation. The 220-acre campus of Susquehanna University has more than 50 buildings, two of which are on the National Register of Historic Places.
The academic structure is divided into three parts, the first being Susquehanna University's School of Arts, Humanities and Communications, made up of nine departments, including art, history, music and theater. Susquehanna University's School of Natural and Social Sciences has eight departments, including chemistry, political science and psychology. About 30 percent of students at the Pennsylvania school major in one of the natural and social sciences programs.
The Sigmund Weis School of Business is the third aspect of Susquehanna University's academic structure and is accredited by the AACSB International. More than 70 percent of business students complete a paid summer internship during their years at Susquehanna University and all business students take 12 semester hours of information technology.
Since 2002, U.S. News & World Report has included Susquehanna University in its list of National Liberal Arts Colleges, which represents the top 217 schools in the country. In its 1995 to 2001 editions, U.S. News named the Pennsylvania school the top regional liberal arts college in the North.
