Designed as both a transfer and technical college Sullivan County Community College provides associate degree and certificate programs to students from a wide breadth of backgrounds. Whether your goal is to transfer into a four-year institution or to move directly into a chosen career, Sullivan provides programs of study that range from accounting to pastry arts. In addition to standard on-campus day classes, Sullivan also offers summer courses, evening classes, and online classes, giving students the ability to earn their degree at their own pace. Sullivan County Community College also operates an extensive non-credited continuing education program aimed at adults returning to the classroom as well as educational camps for children.

Unlike most two-year colleges, Sullivan County Community College offers on-campus residence halls for students as well as many of the amenities typically found only in four-year institutions. The Sullivan County Community College library offers access to over 70,000 book volumes as well as access to over 350 journals from around the world. To help students become acclimated to collegiate life the First Year Experience program provides incoming freshmen with specialized academic success seminars that focus on reinforcing good study and time management skills.

Sullivan County Community College students also participate in four on-campus athletic programs in men's and women's basketball, men's baseball, and cross country. Students who prefer to take the competitiveness out of sports may elect to participate in the school's intramural program. Aside from sports activities, Sullivan provides its students with on-campus movies, arts and cultural performances, and comedy shows throughout the year. Events for 2007 include a performance by the Saints of Swing jazz ensemble, a presentation of the opera "La Perichole," and an improvisational orchestra performance led by New York conductor Walter Thompson.

To help students overcome academic and personal challenges, the on-campus Student Learning Center provides free tutoring, counseling, and study skills workshops. Sullivan County Community College also provides day care facilities and campus-wide internet access.
