Founded in 1889 by Benedictine monks, this small college of the liberal arts sits on a hill in Manchester, New Hampshire, and stands on a 1,500 year tradition of rigorous intellectual, philosophical and moral exploration. The New Hampshire college educates its students for an expansive variety of futures and professions, encouraging imagination and compassion, and the seeking of truth in a multitude of forms. Saint Anselm College works eagerly to grow as a community and to provide an educational environment in which an increasing diversity of students and cultures can thrive. Simultaneously, this New Hampshire college maintains principles and standards consistent with the Benedictine and Catholic traditions. While enrolled at Saint Anselm College, students share the understanding that these principles and standards of practice are to be observed and respected.

Saint Anselm College's undergraduate school confers bachelor of arts degrees in a number of subjects, as well as bachelor of science degrees in nursing. Students have over 30 majors from which to choose. Class sizes are small, with an average population of less than 20 students. The student-to-faculty ratio, at 13-to-1, is conducive to collaborative education, both in the classroom and through student-teacher research partnerships. Saint Anselm College employs some 170 faculty members, with about 130 working full-time. Over 90 percent of faculty members hold the highest possible degrees in their fields and their first priority is the education of the undergraduates. This New Hampshire college also conducts nearly 20 certificate programs.

Saint Anselm College extends opportunities for studying abroad, community service, internships, and special research programs. As a member of the New Hampshire College and University Council, Saint Anselm College presents its students with the chance to enroll in classes at a number of different schools in the Granite State. At Saint Anselm College, students also have the opportunity to earn merit scholarships, based on a variety of criteria, such as academic excellence and leadership skills.

Saint Anselm College's 400-acre campus is just an hour's travel from the seacoasts of New Hampshire and Maine, the city of Boston, and the White Mountain National Forest. This New Hampshire college is home to over 80 clubs and organizations. More than 850 students devote almost 18,000 hours in the academic year to community service projects. The Saint Anselm College President's Advisory Council on Inclusiveness, established in 2007, has begun a climate assessment project.
