Sage College for Legal Careers offers an Associate degree or diploma in court reporting--also referred to as court recorders and stenographers--and legal office assistant. Their mission is to provide students with the skills and expertise needed to gain secure employment in a legal career. Sage has been training students to work in a legal environment for more than three decades. It is a fully accredited and licensed school, and approved by the National Court Reporters Association, Court Reporters Board of California, and more.

With an Associate degree or diploma in court reporting from Sage College, graduates learn to 'write' in excess of 200 words per minute. A certified court reporter is licensed by the State of California to record testimony at legal proceedings. Student options after graduation at Sage cover a broad spectrum from trials, closed captioning, depositions and medical transcribing. A legal office assistant is responsible for projects that require an overall knowledge of the legal environment in which you are employed. Students acquire skills including computer programs used in the legal profession, writing and understanding attorney-specialized correspondence, summonses, complaints, motions and subpoenas.

There is always a demand for responsible court reporters and legal assistants. With enough experience, salaries have been knows to go into the six-figures. Programs are offered in both a full-time and part-time setting; and new classes begin quarterly.
