Founded in 1962 as an industrial education center, Pamlico Community College has since grown into a comprehensive two-year institution of higher learning that's dedicated to providing students with the education, training, or opportunities they need for success in the future. From certificates and diplomas to associate degree programs, there is a curriculum to match most any student's needs at Pamlico Community College.
In fact, this North Carolina college offers 16 different areas in which students may study. While associate degree programs are available in the arts, general education, and medical assisting, several subjects -- such as business administration, environmental science technology, criminal justice, computer information technologies, and accounting -- offer degree and certificate tracks in addition to associate degree programs. As for students who are unable to enroll in programs taught on campus, Pamlico Community College offers distance education courses through its program, Campus Cruiser. This North Carolina community college also offers several continuing education courses -- in subjects such as nursing, landscaping, occupational math, tai chi, and Spanish -- at off-campus locations throughout the community.

As of 2005, nearly 400 students were enrolled at this North Carolina community college.
At Pamlico Community College, students can participate in such intramural sports as men's and women's volleyball, basketball, and softball.
