North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) provides over 50 degree and diploma options to area students. Dedicated to helping students reach their educational goals, the school provides one and two-year degree and diploma options designed to fit your professional needs. In addition to a wide array of liberal arts and technical programs of study, North Iowa Area Community College also provides four pre-professional programs of study in the health care fields. The school maintains articulation agreements with more than 20 local four-year institutions, giving students with their eyes set on a bachelor's degree the opportunity to seamlessly transition to a four-year school without losing credits. Students may take courses either on campus or through North Iowa Area's online learning program.
No matter what program of study they choose, all North Iowa Area Community College students are invited to add an internship or cooperative learning job to supplement their in-class learning. The school's Cooperative Education Internship program provides students with jobs in their field of study during their college tenure. Students who take advantage of this program not only leave campus with a diploma, they also leave with a resume packed with experience and a wealth of industry contacts at their fingertips.
North Iowa Area Community College also maintains a lively campus atmosphere. Students have their choice of 24 clubs and organizations on campus that range from volunteer organizations to political groups to performing arts troupes. The school supports a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society for two-year college students, a campus-wide intramurals sports program, and Logos, a student-run newspaper.
To make sure students reach their educational goals, North Iowa Area Community College provides an array of support services and programs. All students will have access to free academic advising, financial aid counseling, support services for disabled students, and career counseling. Other support services include tutoring, skills assessment testing, job search help, and clustered learning communities for NIACC students.
