At Maine College of Art, students are welcomed into a small, supportive environment in which they can expand their horizons as artists and designers. Faculty members who are actively practicing in their own fields are one of the many elements that serve to inspire students' own work at Maine College of Art.
The BFA program at Maine College of Art offers more than 10 majors, including art history, graphic design, illustration and photography. The MFA in Studio Arts is a two-year, low-residency degree program in which students receive ongoing support in their own home studios supplemented by intensive, short-term residencies on the Portland campus. Additionally, Maine College of Art offers a post-baccalaureate certificate program in art education, in which aspiring teachers can receive their certification in only 10 months.
