Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art Inc., founded in 1976, is a three-year residential school created for aspiring cartoonists who want to become professionals in cartooning, comic book, and the general field of commercial art. Classes take place in a 37,000 square foot building, forty-five minutes from New York City.
There are usually 15 to 20 students per class, but no more than 25 students in each class. All instructors are practicing professionals in their chosen fields and thus have professional experience in the subject they teach. Their talents range from fantasy illustrations to computer graphics.
Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art Inc.'s ten-course curriculum includes intensive studies that focus on methods and materials utilized in the profession as well as the honing of artistic and creative abilities. Correspondence courses have been added to the offerings recently. This instruction focuses specifically on comic book art and details every facet of comic book work in step-by-step methodology.
