James A. Rhodes State College is an open-door school, meaning any Ohio student who has graduated from an Ohio high school or completed the GED program in the state will be admitted. Prospective students wishing to enroll at James A. Rhodes State College must have a high school diploma or GED for all of the associate degree programs and most of the certificate and diploma programs; and must complete a Compass exam. Certain programs also require SAT exam scores. Students who have attended other colleges or universities must also provide a transcript from those schools.
