Edgecombe Community College
2009 W. Wilson Street
Tarboro, NC 27886
What began as an extension of Wilson County Technical Institute became its own entity, Edgecombe Community College, in 1971. Now, as one of the 58 colleges that comprise the North Carolina Community College System, Edgecombe Community College is authorized to award diplomas, certificates, and associate degrees in a variety of different subject areas.
From accounting, autobody repair, CT/MRI, criminal justice, and dental assisting, to health care management technology, manicuring/nail technology, medical assisting, radiography, and surgical technology, there are plenty of programs to meet most anyone's needs. Thanks to the College Transfer program, students who meet certain requirements can have their associate degree credits transferred to a traditional four-year institution of higher learning. This option applies to such fields as communications, business, architecture, veterinary science, physical therapy, journalism, and music.
Edgecombe Community College also offers special customized training courses for individuals interested particular fields and or careers. Whether it's the Focused Industrial Training program, Fire Service program, Emergency Medical Services and Rescue program, or Small Business Center, these courses will provide workers with the certification and/or skills needed to succeed at a career in the field.
