D'Arcy Lane Institute School of Massage Therapy was one of the first original massage therapy schools registered in Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1986, with an enrollment of only five students, the school now has more than 100 students enrolling each year. The institute strives for excellence and provides students with a high quality education.
D'Arcy Lane Institute's massage therapy program requires 2,200 hours of study, which includes courses in anatomy, human relations, business, hydrotherapy, kinesiology, exercise, nutrition and public health, pathology, physiology, treatments, theory and technique, and clinic and outreach.
Students learn general anatomical principles, physiology, kinesiology and remedial exercise, biomechanics, communicating with clients through interpersonal relationships, work ethics and role playing, basic business principles to help students take on the possible role of business owner or operator, hydrotherapy, role of nutrition at different stages of life, public health issues such as disease and infection, pathology, and physiological effects of massage therapy. Students also gain hands-on experience through supervised training opportunities.

Applicants wishing to enroll must have a high school diploma, and a background in biology and chemistry is preferred. Without a high school diploma, students will have to pass a superintendent-approved qualifying exam.
