Danville Community College
1008 South Main Street
Danville, VA 24541

With 11 buildings spread over 86 acres in Virginia, Danville Community College acts as a two-year institution of higher learning. The earliest roots of the school began in 1890 with the creation of the Danville Military Institute. In the years since, the school evolved into the Danville Division of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, before finally merging with Danville Technical Institute in 1966 to create what is now known as Danville Community College.

Today, this Virginia college offers associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs in a variety of different areas. From administration of justice, business management, air conditioning and refrigeration, child care, general engineering technology, and dental hygiene, to computer programming, auto body mechanics, computer-aided drafting and design, the liberal arts, legal assisting, and advanced phlebotomy, there are courses suited to most anyone's needs and interests.

For students who cannot attend class on-campus, or whose schedules do not permit doing so, Danville Community College offers distance education. Through this program students can complete their classes through telecourses, Internet-based classes, or compressed video (in which students at remote sites can communicate with an instructor via live video).
