Hunter College is a comprehensive teaching, research, and service institution, long committed to excellence and access in the education of undergraduate and graduate students in liberal arts and sciences, as well as in the professional fields of education, health science, nursing, and social work. The college is anchored by the main campus at 68th Street and Lexington Avenue, a modern complex of four buildings interconnected by skywalks. The schools of health professions, which include the Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing, one of the nation's largest nursing programs, and the School of Health Sciences, noted for its outstanding program, are located at East 25th Street.

  • The libraries hold 735,000 volumes, 2,300 periodicals, a non-print collection that includes more than one million microforms and 130,000 art slides, as well as records, tapes, scores, music CDs, and videos.

Interns have performed curatorial and administrative work in museums; research and production work on TV news shows and newspapers; design work in commercial graphics; booking, managing, and technical work in theatres; and many other jobs.
