Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry was founded more than 10 years ago in response to the growing demand for makeup schools. The Florida makeup school is a post-secondary vocational school licensed by the Commission for Independent Education under the Florida Department of Education. Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry is also a member of the Florida Association of Post-secondary Schools and Colleges.

Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry offers instruction in contemporary makeup artistry to beginners and experienced makeup artists. The school's programs include multi-media makeup artistry, fashion makeup, and production makeup artistry. The multi-media makeup artistry program requires 140 hours of study and consists of fundamental makeup technique, airbrushing makeup and tanning, high fashion photographic makeup, intro to makeup for film and television, and professionalism. The fashion makeup artistry program is 315-hour program with nine courses including fundamental makeup technique, airbrushing makeup and tanning, high fashion photographic makeup, intro to makeup for film and television, professionalism, make-up for print, music videos, runway and stage, body art airbrushing techniques, hairstyling for production makeup artist, and fashion portfolio building. Students in the production makeup artistry program undergo 490 hours of study in the same courses as the fashion makeup artistry program, with the addition of the character makeup for film and TV course.

Quick Facts

• Students who wish to attend Cosmix must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Those without a high school or GED will be required to take a basic skills test before their start date. Prospective students must complete a student application and give a deposit.



• Throughout the year, students are encouraged to attend Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry's seasonal premieres and advanced workshops for career development.



• Once students graduate form Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry, they receive professional career counseling and they offer job placement assistance to graduates in good standing
.


• Financial assistance is available through student loans through SLM financial and it covers 100 percent of the costs, including registration fee, tuition, lab, and material costs.



• Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry's instructors are a team of professional artists. Students learn photo, fashion, and video makeup from master artists who are actively working in the in the industry with celebrities and musicians. Runway is taught by a former runway model and artist for top shows, such as Valentino. Film and television makeup is taught by a top artist with years of experience in film and who has been nominated for Cable's Ace Award and an Emmy Award in "Outstanding Achievement in Makeup".
