The Cosmetology Training Center's mission is to prepare students for beautiful and profitable careers through hard work. The center provides cosmetology skills through textbook theory, direct instruction, and hands-on client experiences. In addition to cosmetology skills, Cosmetology Training Center emphasizes business management skills and personal development for a strong educational foundation.

Cosmetology Training Center offers cosmetology and nail technology. The cosmetology course curriculum requires 1,550 hours of instruction, with 420 hours of theory, 980 hours of practical instruction, and 150 hours for special curriculum under the supervision of an instructor. The program trains students to be professional cosmetologists, who are licensed and can practice professionally worldwide. The nail technology curriculum requires 350 hours, which is about 10 weeks of study, and tests students' understanding and practice of nail technology.

• The cosmetology course curriculum includes customer relations attitude, cosmetology laws and rules, sterilization, sanitation and bacteriology, anatomy, nail technology, permanent waving, hair straightening, hair coloring, personal development-attitude, facials, hairstyling, salon management, light therapy, and special curriculum.



• The nail technology curriculum conforms to a curriculum established by the State of Minnesota. Students learn theory in nail technology, sanitation and sterilization, hand and arm molding, business sciences, and application in cleaning, conditioning, shaping, reinforcing, coloring and enhancing of nails and in the application of sculpture nails and repair of artificial nails.



• Cosmetology Training Center student-teacher ratio is 15 to 1 to ensure students receive individual attention.



• Cosmetology Training Center students go from a strong foundation in theory to hands-on application. After completing eight weeks of classroom work, including practical application, students participate in daily supervised clinics to develop skills in their respective fields as well as their customer relation skills.



• Classes have start dates in January, February, April, July, September, and October.



• Cosmetology Training Center has refresher courses for currently licensed cosmetologists.



• The Cosmetology Training Center offers specialization in hair, nail, and skin care services, birthday party makeovers, and prom hair specials.



• Cosmetology Training Center holds a semi-annual style show, where hair designs by their current students are featured.



• The cost of the cosmetology program is $11,413 and the nail technology program is $3,958. There are payment options available to help students achieve their educational goals.
