Corning Community College is a member of the State University of New York (SUNY), and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League for Nursing. The school is located on a 550-acre main campus on Spencer Hill with a complex of eight buildings plus an observatory and planetarium. Corning Community College students are also provided with services at a variety of off-campus sites throughout Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties. Corning Community College is truly a community college, and proud of it.
In an effort to be more ecologically friendly, the Green Campus Task Force, a group of employees and students, formed in fall 2004, and has been active in helping develop ways for Corning Community College to become greener. The Task Force works with all areas of Corning Community College to research and adopt state-of-the-art conservation practices. Recycling and energy conservation have been major initiatives in 2005 and 2006. Educating everyone in the Corning Community College community in ways that each can participate in these sustainable actions is a major thrust for the group. They partner with Student Government, Phi Theta Kappa and Student Activities on a number of activities. Corning Community College looks forward to being a leader in energy efficient practices for the entire region.
