Coppin State University, a public, urban, liberal arts university in Baltimore, Maryland, focuses primarily on the needs and aspirations of the people of central Baltimore and its immediate metropolitan area. This Baltimore school is committed to providing resources that contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in the city.

Coppin State University is part the University System of Maryland. CSU's 45-acre campus is in a residential neighborhood in West Central Baltimore, 15 minutes from the Inner Harbor and within 20 minutes driving distance from most parts of the city. Public transportation is easily accessible to and from the university.

Coppin State awards Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and Master of Science degrees. CSU encompasses the Division of Arts and Sciences, the Division of Education, the Division of Graduate Studies, the Division of Nursing, and the Honors Division.

CSU is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, while the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the Maryland State Department of Education, the Maryland Board of Nurses, the National League for Nursing, the National Council on Social Work Education, and the Council on Rehabilitation Education accredit programs at the university that correspond to their areas of expertise.

Coppin State also offers non-traditional programs including web-based instruction, distance education, evening classes, summer school, off-campus programs and summer enrichment, and certificate and training programs.
