Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base
130 West Maxwell Boulevard
Montgomery, Alabama 36112-6613

As the only degree-granting institution of higher learning exclusively for enlisted people, the Community College of the Air Force has a hand in the job knowledge and performance of every enlisted person in the Air Force. Part of the college's mission is to be the foremost occupational education institution in order to prepare the world's best expeditionary-minded air, space and cyberspace enlisted leaders.

The Alabama college awards job-related associate degrees and other academic credentials that the college believes adds to a student's mission readiness. The Community College of the Air Force is comprised of the college itself, the Air Force Institute of Technology and several professional schools, including the Ira C. Eaker College for Professional Development and the International Officer School. As you might expect, campus organizations center around the air force and include Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and the Air Force Institute for Advanced Distributed Learning, where students can enter the Air Force Extension Course Program and the Executive Technology Network.

Most of Community College of the Air Force's programs take place at the Maxwell Air Force Base in northwest Montgomery, while others are across town at Maxwell's Gunter Annex and another at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Community College of the Air Force was founded in Montgomery in 1946, following the town's long history with flying, beginning with a flight school the Wright Brothers founded there in 1910.
