400 East Avenue
Warwick, RI 02886-1807
In 1964, when the Community College of Rhode Island began its time as a two-year institution of higher learning, there were only 325 students. Over the next 40 years the school would continue to grow, offering everything from academic transfer programs to career training. Now with a student population of over 16,000 -- and status as the state's only public comprehensive associate degree-granting institution -- this Rhode Island college offers associate degrees in the arts, fine arts, science, applied science, and applied science in technical studies.
In fact, with programs in fields such as business administration, nursing, social services, dental health, criminal justice, administrative office technology, allied health, and music, the Community College of Rhode Island has something to pique almost anyone's interest. And thanks to the school's academic transfer programs, the learning doesn't have to stop with an associate degree. Ambitious students, who meet the right requirements, can choose to transfer their credits towards earning a bachelor's degree from a traditional four-year college or university.
