Set right in the midst of the Colorado Rockies, the Colorado Mountain College is a two-year institution of higher learning. Founded in 1967, this Colorado community college has continued to grow over the years and, as of 2001, served more than 24,800 students.
During their time at Colorado Mountain College, students can choose to earn either an associate of arts or associate of science degree, or certificate. The associate degree programs are the best choice for students who are interested in transferring to a traditional four-year college or university. Certificate and degree programs are available in a wide variety of disciplines, including: accounting, graphic design, business, golf club management, wilderness EMS, nursing, veterinary technology, and paralegal training.
Thanks to its prime location near snow-covered mountains students of Colorado Mountain College may choose to participate in the school's Nordic and/or Alpine ski teams. In addition to its main location in Glenwood Springs, this Colorado community college also has learning locations in: Aspen, Breckenridge, Carbondale, Chaffee County, Dillon, Leadville, Rifle, Spring Valley, Steamboat Springs, and Vail-Eagle Valley. As a result, Colorado Mountain College boasts a service area of approximately 12,000 miles.
