College of the Ozarks is a four-year liberal arts institution in Missouri, and is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Thanks to College of the Ozarks' work education program, full-time students are able to pay off their tuition through a combination of grants, scholarships, and work on campus. Students are expected to work 15 hours every week at one of the Missouri college's work stations, which include the Computer Center, Ralph Foster Museum, or even the Child Development Center.
At College of the Ozarks, students will have a number of academic programs and concentrations to choose from. Program options include such diverse disciplines as: physical education, philosophy and religion, Christian ministry, chemistry, computer science, music, theatre, journalism, military science, agribusiness, graphic arts, accounting, hotel/restaurant management, political science, and animal science. Pre-professional programs also prepare students for further education in engineering, law, veterinary medicine, and medicine.
This Missouri college has plenty to be proud of too. In the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Guide 2008 it was ranked as the #11 Midwest Baccalaureate College and #1 Great School for Great Price. College of the Ozarks also boasts a student-faculty ratio of 14 to one.
